About Beth
I am a sixth form student who has a passion for creative writing. I want to share my passion in English with students, and I want to help students who may be struggling in their academics. I have studied countless GCSE mark schemes, I run creative writing clubs in my school and I am currently in the middle of writing my first book. I used to be in the position where I struggled with English, as it gets very content heavy. But I became an expert in mark schemes and proper techniques. I learnt to engage effectively enough to understand and indulge in the content I was fed. I received a grade 9 in English Literature and a grade 8 in English Language. I hope to inspire and help other creative young people who need help finding their spark.

I believe the key to teaching/tutoring is engagement, and a teacher’s interest in the subject. Any subject can be tackled with the right levels of engagement. My methodology can be tailored to fit every student’s needs. I have run a creative writing club for almost a year, and I received a grade 9 in my English Literature and an 8 in my English Language. I tutor younger years in my school for free, and have boosted their grades by at least 1 level after working with them for a month. The lessons are for GCSE students but I also have experience teaching lower years English. I have gone on to take A level History, so can use transferable skills to teach effective essay techniques. A typical tutoring lesson with me can last 45 mins to 1 hour.
