About Lucy
I am an enthusiastic flute tutor with 9 years of experience and a successful record of teaching approximately 150 students. I teach students of all levels with patience and dedication.
My approach is based on step-by-step learning. I start with the basics—proper posture, breath control, tone production, and finger positioning. Once students gain confidence, I gradually introduce advanced techniques, scales, sight-reading, and expressive performance elements.
I provide clear explanations and practical demonstrations during each lesson. I also monitor progress regularly and adjust teaching methods when necessary.
One of my key strengths is helping students overcome technical difficulties through focused exercises and consistent encouragement. I create a positive learning environment that motivates students to practise regularly.
My mission is to build technically strong and musically confident flute players who continue to improve with discipline and passion.

My approach to teaching flute is systematic, student-centred, and adaptable. Every student has different strengths, so I personalise lessons to match their learning style and musical goals.
Lessons begin with warm-ups that strengthen breathing control and tone stability. I focus on proper embouchure, finger coordination, rhythm precision, and articulation clarity. As students progress, I introduce expressive techniques such as dynamics and phrasing. Each lesson follows a structured plan to ensure balanced development.
In addition to flute practice, I teach music theory basics, sight-reading skills, scale patterns, and ear training. This combination helps students understand music deeply rather than just memorising pieces.
Flexibility is important in my teaching. I adjust the lesson pace according to improvement levels and provide extra support when needed. Collaboration is encouraged through feedback sessions and shared repertoire selection. With a positive and motivating teaching style, I help students build confidence and consistency in their musical journey.
