About June

I am a dedicated piano tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, having successfully taught around 300 students ranging from high school learners and college students to adults. I focus on helping students build strong technical foundations while nurturing their creativity and musical expression.

My teaching philosophy emphasises proper posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, arpeggios, rhythm, sight-reading, and interpretation. Each lesson is carefully structured with warm-ups, technical exercises, theory integration, and repertoire practice, and I provide guidance for effective home practice to ensure steady progress.

Many of my students have performed confidently in recitals, school programmes, and competitions, and several have achieved high distinctions in graded examinations. My goal is to inspire students to become confident, skilled, and expressive pianists while fostering a lifelong love for music

About the lesson

My approach to piano instruction combines structured planning with personalised flexibility. I observe each student’s learning style and adapt lessons to suit their pace and preferences. I focus on technical accuracy, hand coordination, rhythm control, and dynamic expression.

I teach students effective practice habits so they can improve independently. If progress slows, I adjust the lesson plan and revisit key concepts for clarity. Collaboration keeps students engaged, as they participate in selecting repertoire and setting performance goals.

Positivity is central to my classroom, creating a supportive atmosphere for growth. Along with piano performance, I teach music theory, harmony, sight-reading, and beginner composition to strengthen overall musicianship.
