About Marlowe
I am a committed flute tutor with 12 years of experience and nearly 150 students successfully guided through their musical journey. I teach flute to learners of all ages and levels, focusing on both technical mastery and artistic expression. My teaching approach emphasises breath control, tone clarity, articulation precision, finger accuracy, and rhythmic consistency.
I gradually introduce advanced techniques and challenging pieces as students build confidence. I customise each lesson to align with the student’s individual goals, whether for exams, performances, or personal development.
One of my strongest qualities is my patient and methodical teaching style, which ensures steady and stress-free progress. I encourage disciplined practice habits while keeping lessons engaging and inspiring. My ultimate mission is to nurture skilled, confident, and passionate flute musicians who continue learning with dedication and enthusiasm.

My flute teaching methodology is designed to develop technical skill, musical expression, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I believe that students learn best in a supportive and engaging environment.
Lessons focus on breath control, posture, embouchure, tone clarity, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. I introduce exercises progressively, allowing students to build technical skill while exploring musical expression through dynamics, phrasing, and style.
I also teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and scales to ensure complete musical understanding. This integrated approach helps students connect practical playing with theoretical knowledge.
Flexibility allows me to customise lessons for beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students. Collaboration is encouraged through shared repertoire, goal setting, and interactive feedback.
I maintain a positive classroom environment where mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities. My goal is to foster confident, expressive, and disciplined flute players who enjoy lifelong music learning.
