About Melissa
With 15+ years of experience as a violin tutor, I have taught around 300 students including high school learners, college students, and adults, helping them build strong musical skills and confidence. My teaching approach focuses on creating a comfortable and supportive learning space where students can learn at their own pace.
I believe that learning music should be both structured and enjoyable, so I design lessons that are simple, clear, and effective. I focus on important areas such as rhythm, intonation, bowing technique, and tone production, while also encouraging students to express themselves through music.
I provide regular exercises and practice guidance to ensure steady improvement. One of my proud achievements is helping students progress from beginners to confident players who enjoy performing. I also support students in preparing for performances and personal goals. My aim is to make learning violin a rewarding experience that builds both skill and confidence.

My violin teaching methodology combines clear communication, adaptability, and real-world application of skills. I focus on understanding each student’s learning style and adjust my teaching to match their pace and abilities. Lessons include posture, bowing technique, fingering, tone, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression, with an emphasis on creativity and interpretation.
I use practical examples such as performing songs, playing along with recordings, and preparing for recitals to make lessons relatable. I also teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to provide a complete musical education.
My goal is to create an encouraging and inspiring environment where students gain confidence, develop skills steadily, and enjoy their musical journey.
