About Uma
As a violin tutor with 12+ years of experience, I have successfully taught around 300 students across different age groups. I teach high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them learn violin in a simple and effective way. My teaching philosophy is based on understanding each student’s needs and guiding them step by step.
I create lessons that are clear, structured, and easy to follow. I focus on building strong basics like posture, finger positioning, and bow control. I also include practice routines that help students improve regularly. One of my key achievements is helping students gain confidence and perform comfortably. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to improve.

My violin teaching approach focuses on communication, adaptability, and making learning practical and enjoyable. I assess each student’s learning style and tailor lessons to their pace, goals, and preferences.
I cover fundamental techniques such as posture, bowing, fingering, intonation, and tone production while encouraging creativity and expressive playing. To make lessons meaningful, I use real-life examples such as performing favorite songs, preparing for recitals, and understanding the emotional aspects of music. In addition to violin, I teach supporting subjects like music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills.
My goal is to create a structured and motivating environment where students build confidence, improve steadily, and develop a lifelong love for music.
