About Lauren

I am an energetic and supportive tutor ready to help students excel in their English learning journey. I hold two TEFL certifications, one of which is a comprehensive 120 hour Level 5 Diploma, which is certified by Highfield Qualifications in the UK. This diploma has provided me with all of the knowledge needed to teach English as a foreign language to learners of all ages, levels, and backgrounds. The other is a specialised 10 hour virtual course that provided me with hands-on experience in creating a lesson plan for online classes and teaching a class using my own plan. These certifications have equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively engage students, adapt to various learning styles, and create dynamic and engaging online learning experiences.

Currently, I am serving in a role within a University that allows me to work closely with international students and contribute to their academic and cultural adjustment. This experience has cultivated my intercultural awareness and understanding, which I believe is crucial for effectively teaching English to foreign students. It has also improved my communication and organisational skills, which are essential for remote teaching.

Additionally, my academic background in politics and international relations provides me with a solid foundation for connecting with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and fostering engaging discussions on a wide range of topics. My time in University has also given me the ability to critically analyse and present information effectively, which I believe are important aspects of English teaching.

I am deeply passionate about helping students learn and grow in their English language proficiency, and I am committed to creating a positive and supportive online learning environment. I am at the start of my teaching career and keen to get to know learners from around the world who want to improve their English for any reasons they may need, professional or personal.

About the lesson

I provide interactive grammar and skills-based English lessons to children or adults at all levels from beginner to advanced. Classes consist of teaching grammar tenses and vocabulary and developing students' skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening through the use of fun and engaging activities. I will tailor lessons based on your specific needs and learning style. My TEFL certifications have provided me with the means and knowledge needed for this, as well as actual experience of teaching an online class. Classes range from one hour to two hours in length.
