About Rachel
Hey! My name is Rachel. I’m originally from Belfast (though you probably wouldn’t guess from my accent anymore!). I’m a climate and human rights researcher and advocate, with experience working with organisations such as Amnesty International, renewable energy companies, and international development projects. I’ve spent nearly two decades in academia, so I know the academic world inside out- including exactly what markers, lecturers, and examiners are looking for. I understand how challenging it can be to get to grips with a difficult topic, write a first-class essay, or prepare confidently for exams. Too often, teachers and professors simply don’t have the time to offer the individual support students need - and that’s where I come in. I love helping students build confidence, sharpen their thinking, and produce work they’re genuinely proud of, drawing on my experience of studying and succeeding at top universities. Alongside my academic work, I hold a diploma in musical theatre and enjoy hiking, photography, and writing my own blogs. I find that having creative interests helps me bring energy, clarity, and fresh perspectives into my teaching.

My lessons are tailored to you. I work closely with students to identify the areas they find most challenging and support them in overcoming these difficulties through personalised, structured approaches that suit their learning style. I am a patient and supportive tutor, and I understand that mastering new topics takes time. I create a safe, encouraging environment where questions are welcomed. I also challenge you to think critically and independently, as it often leads to the strongest outcomes and deeper understanding. I bring strong academic knowledge and experience, having completed an MSc in Environment, Politics and Development at King’s College London and a BSc in Social Sciences at the University of Bath, both leading Russell Group universities. My lessons are suitable for students of all ages and levels, whether you are looking to build confidence, improve grades, or deepen your understanding of a subject.
