About Ramya
I am Ramya Balan, a Textile and Fashion Designer based in Sydney. I am passionate about teaching Tamil and helping learners build a strong foundation in reading, writing, and grammar in a simple and engaging way.
I enjoy working with students of all ages, especially school children, and I aim to make Tamil learning approachable, interactive, and enjoyable. For those interested, I also include Tamil literature discussions to help deepen understanding and appreciation of the language and its cultural richness.
I believe learning should feel comfortable and encouraging, and I adapt my teaching style based on each student’s pace and needs. I am currently based in Sydney and would love to conduct Tamil language classes here, either in person or in a suitable learning format.

If someone is interested in literature, we can also explore Tamil stories, poems, and texts together through open discussions that make learning more engaging and meaningful.
I’m comfortable working with school children as well, supporting them with their lessons and helping them improve their reading, writing, and understanding of Tamil in a way that suits their pace. The focus would be on making learning clear, approachable, and enjoyable.
