About Declan
My passion for Spanish stems from my lifelong love for communication and culture. After spending years studying and teaching the language, I discovered that every student brings a unique rhythm to their learning — and that teaching Spanish is about helping that rhythm find harmony with the language itself. Over nine years of teaching, I’ve worked with learners of all ages, guiding them from their first greetings to fluid conversations that express their personality and curiosity. I see language as a bridge — a way to connect people and ideas. My teaching style is adaptive, creative, and deeply human. I encourage students to embrace mistakes as part of learning and to take pride in every small victory. Each class is an opportunity to grow both linguistically and personally. Outside the classroom, I explore Hispanic literature, films, and travel experiences that enrich my cultural understanding. Teaching Spanish gives me endless joy because it allows me to share something living, beautiful, and constantly evolving — a language that opens hearts as much as it opens minds.

Spanish lessons with me are immersive journeys into both language and culture. I believe that to truly learn Spanish, one must experience it — its rhythm, its warmth, and its diversity. Each lesson integrates conversation, grammar, and listening practice with cultural exploration, helping students internalize the language through meaningful engagement. My teaching blends structure with spontaneity, allowing learners to grow steadily while enjoying the process of discovery.
Beginners build strong foundations through pronunciation work, essential vocabulary, and functional dialogues. Intermediate students develop fluency through storytelling, situational exercises, and media-based learning that connects language to everyday life. Advanced learners refine their writing and speaking through discussions, debates, and analysis of authentic materials such as songs, articles, and short films.
Lessons can also include DELE exam preparation or professional Spanish for business and travel. Every session aims to make students feel empowered and connected. They leave not only with new linguistic skills but also with an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures and the confidence to use their voice authentically and naturally.
