About Rebeca

I have over 15 years of experience in the Social Services field, with emphasis on Bilingual Services. My professional career started as: Spanish Tutor Assistant at the Grand Rapids Community College in 2008. Most two recent relevant job titles: - Bilingual Technical Support & First Aid Trainer for the Health & Safety Institute. - Community Resource Manager & Bilingual Advocate for United Way 211. Current: Spanish Teacher for Explore & Grow Learning Center. I am a mother of two, happily married, love to travel, learn about cultures, food, live music, nature, beach, the sun and the moon, and have fun with everything I do. Looking forward to helping you in your Spanish learning journey!!!

About the lesson

I have a fun cultural teaching approach. Learning Spanish is fun!!! Teach from basic vocabulary words, then move into basic two and three-word phrases till conversation level, the same way a child learns to speak its native language. I use a lot of visuals and songs to help with memory retention and also like to incorporate Spanish culture content for vocabulary lessons, seasons, and holidays throughout the year, making the learning be more rich in content while entertaining. For those in intermediate and advanced levels, I can work on ongoing practice and conversation at the level you are to maintain language memory. For those seeking tutoring service, I can help on all levels, to review, and facilitate any assignment, project, or test study. For initial lessons, I offer an online option only; if in-person support is needed as lessons begin, the option to meet at a KDL location (Kent District Library) or a coffee shop is an option that can be arranged after the first intro online meeting. I also offer translation and interpretation services. First intro 30 minutes online meet is free.

With each Spanish lesson, you will also receive material to print, that I have personally designed and curated for you to always be able to go back and reference what you've learned. Translation and Interpretation option applies same fee per hr and includes printed translated item, that I can send you by mail, email or in person at a KDL location. No transportation fee if we meet for Gainesville, Kentwood, EGR or Wyoming KDL library or GRPL Alger library. For any other library location, fee based on distance can go from 10dlls each way, up to 20dlls each way. Based in Kentwood SE area. -PLEASE NOTE: FIRST FREE 30 MIN INTRO CLASS AVAILABLE ONLINE, OR IF INTRO CLASS IS IN PERSON CAN WAIVE 10DLLS OF TRANSPORTATION FEE.
