• Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I speak this language fluently thanks to my origins: it is the language I grew up with and that has always been part of my daily life. Some teachers later helped me refine it and appreciate its nuances.

• Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  For me, an emblematic representative of Italian culture is Luciano Pavarotti: with his voice he brought Italian to the whole world, becoming a universal symbol of our language and culture.

• Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

  I really like the word “magari”, because it conveys hope and desire in a single expression. It’s a word I often use and find very characteristic.

• Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  Because it allows me to express myself naturally, to connect with my culture, and to convey emotions and ideas with nuances that other languages cannot capture in the same way.

• What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  The greatest difficulty lies in grammar, especially verb conjugations and agreements. What really helps is reading a lot, listening to authentic conversations, and practicing every day, even with small exercises.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

  A valuable memory from my school days is studying verb conjugations and sentence structure. At first they seemed complicated and heavy, but over time I realized that this is where the richness of the language lies: mastering them gave me confidence and made me appreciate the precision of Italian.

• How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

  Being a native speaker, I didn’t need trips to learn Italian. However, traveling through different regions of Italy allowed me to discover dialects and local expressions: listening to people in Naples, Florence, or Palermo enriched me and made me realize how varied and alive the Italian language is.

  My ability to adapt to the level of the person I’m speaking with, to explain clearly, and to make learning engaging. I don’t limit myself to rules: I also try to convey the pleasure and beauty of the language.
