About Carla

Hi, I’m Carla! I’m a native Spanish speaker from Zaragoza, Spain. I speak four languages and have a huge passion for discovering new cultures and backpacking.

In Spain, we are known for being extroverted (for us we are just normal). We can easily spend 5 hours in a café just catching up with friends! I love that social aspect of my culture, and I bring the same energy to my teaching. I’ve already been helping my Aussie friends master their Spanish and realized how much I enjoy it. That’s exactly why I’m here!

I’m excited to help you reach your goals. Let’s get started!

About the lesson

As a learner myself of other languages, I am aware that the only path to learn is perseverance and practice. And with Spanish it cannot be any different. From beginning to refreshers, I adapt to your level and always try to make dynamic and fun classes, either online or face to face.

I adapt to each person's objective, whether you want to study for an exam, traveling, curiosity, impress someone or just practice conversation.
- For beginners, I'll start with basics and repeat certain sentences/words until they stick and you start using them, and then add new ones so we keep improving.
- For intermediate-advanced speakers, it's customized on your specific preferences and interests.

Fun fact: did you know that Spanish people keep studying Spanish language and literature (Lengua y literatura castellanas) until they are 16 years old? We have to learn by heart Antonio Machado poems, read the novels of Garcia Lorca, and, of course, not to have any grammatical or vocabulary mistakes in the so-called "dictados" (Spanish version of a listening in which you have to transcribe everything said). Don't worry, you can skip all this and just enjoy learning!
