About Silvia

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education from the University of Fribourg and a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences, focusing on Special Education, from the University of Geneva. I have also completed training in Schema Coaching. As a mother of two children, I combine my professional experience with my personal experience of parenthood. I have been working in the educational and psychosocial fields for over ten years. I currently work as a family trainer in the Canton of Zurich, where I support parents and families in their everyday environment. I work both with families who seek support voluntarily and with families receiving support at the request of child protection services.

About the lesson

I offer personalized educational and parenting support to parents who are facing challenges, have questions about their child or parenting, or would simply like guidance during different stages of family life.

With a background in special education and professional experience supporting families, I pay particular attention to understanding each child’s individual needs, development, and family environment. I also support parents of children with special educational needs, developmental or behavioral challenges, or learning difficulties, helping them better understand their child’s needs and find strategies that work in everyday family life.

During our consultation, we take the time to understand your situation, your concerns, your child’s needs, and your family dynamics. Together, we identify what you would like to change or improve and develop practical strategies that you can apply in your daily life. In follow-up sessions, we look at what is working, what remains challenging, and adjust our approach when needed.
I can support you with a wide range of parenting concerns, including setting rules and boundaries, managing conflicts and challenging behaviors, daily routines, developing independence, parent-child communication, sibling relationships, differences in parenting styles, and periods of change within the family.

I am also trained in Schema Coaching and can integrate this approach when appropriate. It can help us explore patterns, emotions, and automatic reactions that may be triggered in our role as parents. Understanding why certain situations with our children affect us particularly strongly or lead to recurring reactions can help us gain perspective and develop new ways of responding and relating to them.

My approach combines special education, educational and family support, and tools from Schema Coaching. It is compassionate, practical, and non-judgmental. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all parenting method, we work together to understand your particular situation and develop realistic solutions that respect your child’s needs, your values, and your family’s unique circumstances.

Consultations are available online in English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish.
