About Ashley

Kids and working professionals often seek a steady hand for their musical growth. 13 years of experience as a gigging musician in Denver have shaped my approach into something very practical.

My Diploma from Musicians Institute Hollywood provides the backbone for everything I teach. I focus on pop and contemporary piano styles with a sharp eye on grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity boards. Sight playing and music theory become much easier when they are connected to actual songs you enjoy. I also emphasize accompaniment skills to make sure you sound great in any group setting.

My career moves between the stage and the studio to keep my perspective fresh. How do you feel about playing your first piece for an audience?

About the lesson

Can you imagine feeling totally confident at the keys during your practice time? Focusing on how you learn best helps me adjust my demonstrations to match your pace. I integrate my background from Musicians Institute Hollywood to show you how voicings actually work in rock or folk music. We spend time on technical drills before moving into the repertoire that excites you.

You might find my approach to theory quite refreshing since we apply it to songs immediately. I share a progress tracker with parents every month to keep everyone in the loop regarding your development. It feels great to see those small milestones turn into real ability over time.

I focus on creating a space where questions are always welcomed and never rushed. My aim is to ensure our time together remains productive yet relaxed.
