About Lacey
I am an enthusiastic flute tutor with 9 years of experience and approximately 150 students guided successfully. I specialise in teaching all levels and focus on gradual, step-by-step development.
My teaching emphasises proper breathing techniques, embouchure stability, tone refinement, articulation control, and finger coordination.
I also include scale exercises, rhythm training, and basic music theory to develop complete musicianship. I carefully assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to design customised lesson plans.
My unique ability is identifying technical challenges quickly and providing focused exercises that lead to visible progress. I maintain patience and encouragement while promoting discipline and regular practice. My goal is to help students become confident, technically sound, and expressive flute performers.

My flute teaching methodology focuses on building strong technical foundations while fostering musical expression, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style and pace to ensure effective understanding.
Lessons cover posture, breath control, embouchure, tone production, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. I use progressive exercises, scales, and articulation drills to build skill gradually, while also guiding students towards expressive playing, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation.
I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm comprehension to develop well-rounded musicianship. Students learn to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhancing both performance and understanding.
Flexibility allows me to modify lesson plans to meet the student’s goals, whether for exams, performances, or personal enrichment. Collaboration is encouraged through repertoire selection, discussions, and goal-setting.
I maintain a positive and motivating environment, helping students build confidence, discipline, and musicality. My aim is to cultivate expressive, skilled, and self-assured flute players.
