People usually ask me for:
1. Weight loss coaching
2. Injury rehabilitation/ pain management
3. Sports program consultations
4. Sports massage sessions
5. Fascia and mobility work

Having worked with both athletes and old folks, beginners and advanced folk, my advice will always be specific to where you are at.

Weight Loss:
On average, my clients take 6-9 months for a sustainable full-body transformation (usually 3 months muscle building >> 3 months slow weight cut).

Rehab:
My clients generally see improvements within 2-4 sessions of work, accelerated when they actively do their prescribed "movement homework".

Event prep:
I get folks coming to me to prepare for powerlifting and marathon events, either for rehab, preparation, or conditioning.

Others:
Otherwise, I'm happy to coach/ share knowledge through one-off classes too! These include massage sessions, mobility work, exercise program consultations and so on.

Note on my sessions:
1. We will always start every session with prehab/ rehab work to reduce risk of injury/ recover from injuries.
2. Every session will end with either a fascia release or a short 10 min sports massage session.
3. My rates are based on each session, not per hour. My sessions usually go a little over hour anyway due to 1 and 2.
4. Each session focuses on outcomes, which is why I don't charge based on time.

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started playing sport at 19. Realising I was overweight, socially awkward, I picked up all sorts of sports to meet people and get in shape - latin dance, parkour, rock climbing, archery, and of course, the gym!
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

My favorite sports would be olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and strongman; I compete in powerlifting occasionally and run for fun. I'd love to discover wing-suiting and surfing one day!
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

I love lifting big weights, and I love the discipline and structure that powerlifter training brings to my life!
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

I have quite a few achievements, but my favorite would be competing with the lightest possible weights at my first powerlifting meet - 2 weeks after being discharged from hospital for a slipped disc (L4-L5). It's not a flashy achievement, but the community support and new friends I made there made the experience memorable.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

Definitely! It made me realize that our choices matter, and that we can always strive to be 1% better every day, even when things aren't going our way.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

I'd pick Hafthor Bjornsson, and ask him about his interesting career, do strongman stuff, and try lifting the Husafell stone!
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I break their training plan into simple metrics (weight, pain, mobility, exercise performance), and help them improve at least one of these metrics by 1% every session. Great banter helps, too!
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

    i) My lived experience transforming from couch potato to athlete. ii) Using my passion as a biomechanics geek to help my clients feel better every day!
