About Nicholas
Starting with a comprehensive game analysis allows us to identify your immediate blind spots during the first 60 minutes. Observing how you handle time management reveals much about your current decision-making process. My International Master background informs the way I teach board vision and opening principles to adult improvers or scholastic players.
We will sharpen your positional understanding and defensive technique through concrete board work. Tournament preparation remains a core pillar of our sessions together. Building a robust opening repertoire requires persistence and patience. I truly enjoy seeing players refine their blunder-checking skills until they become second nature.

Achieving the International Master title provided a rigorous framework for my approach to the game. Competitive play demands absolute focus. I spent 6 years in high stakes junior coaching roles before transitioning to full time instruction for a diverse range of students. My history includes 14 years of deep involvement in the chess world.
Working with beginners, club players, and rated juniors has defined my daily life. I enjoy deconstructing complex positions into manageable segments for my pupils. These interactions sharpen my own understanding of the board while helping others grow. My coaching style remains grounded in tactical reality rather than abstract theory.
