I provide structured learning support through The Learning Builder (TLB) for children who need help strengthening academic foundations, building confidence, and developing more organised learning habits.
I have spent more than a decade in education, including teaching at the tertiary level, while also supporting primary students in literacy, numeracy, and core learning skills.
Over the past three years, I have worked closely with students who benefit from a more structured and adaptive learning approach. This has deepened my understanding of how children differ in attention, pacing, confidence, response time, and the way they process learning tasks.
My background in software engineering, game development, and computer science also shapes the way I teach. I break complex ideas into smaller, clearer steps, observe where misunderstandings happen, and adjust the learning process so the child can progress more steadily.
Through teaching and personal caregiving experience, I have developed a strong awareness of learning fatigue, attention demands, emotional readiness, and the importance of patient, consistent guidance.

TLB Structured Learning Support sessions are designed for preschool and primary-aged learners who need clearer guidance, paced instruction, and steady scaffolding in early literacy, early numeracy, mathematics, and core academic foundations. Support may also be suitable for learners who are already performing well but would benefit from deeper mastery, clearer thinking habits, more consistent learning habits, and more confident independent application.
Each session focuses on helping the child access the learning task more clearly, understand the steps involved, and participate with greater confidence. Learning is broken down into manageable parts so that misunderstandings can be identified, corrected, extended, and reinforced gradually.
For preschool learners, support may include basic literacy skills, early reading and writing foundations, early numeracy development, and school-readiness reinforcement for children who are entering preschool, already attending kindergarten, or preparing for Year 1.
For learners who are ready for further challenge, sessions may include guided and carefully scaffolded practice to strengthen clearer thinking, step-by-step reasoning, flexible use of concepts, self-checking habits, and confidence as they build stronger mastery and greater independence in applying what they learn.
TLB Structured Learning Support does not rely on a single fixed teaching method. Using the LANTERN framework, sessions are adjusted based on the learner’s readiness, attention, task response, fatigue level, and independence, so the child can participate meaningfully without unnecessary overwhelm.
TLB Structured Learning Support is delivered in a 12-week block, with each session typically lasting two hours. Within each session, short learning breaks may be included when needed to support attention, comfort, and continued participation.
Over time, parents may notice improved task consistency, clearer working steps, better tolerance for learning demands, stronger academic confidence, and growing independence in approaching learning tasks.

Structured Learning Plan

To support consistency and sustainable progress, TLB Structured Learning Support is generally delivered in a minimum 12-week block, with a fixed weekly session where possible. Each session typically lasts two hours, with short learning breaks included when needed to support attention, comfort, and continued participation.
An initial trial or suitability session may be arranged before confirming the most appropriate support tier and weekly time slot.
Rate Structure

1) Adaptive Structured Learning Support – RM150/hour
Suitable for preschool and primary-aged learners who need clearer guidance, paced instruction, and steady scaffolding in literacy, numeracy, mathematics, and core academic foundations, but do not require a higher level of intensive support.
2) Intensive Adaptive Learning Support – RM180/hour
Suitable for learners who require a higher level of structure, pacing adjustment, repeated reinforcement, closer guidance, or more personalised support during learning tasks. This may also be suitable for learners who are already performing well but would benefit from deeper mastery, clearer thinking habits, more consistent learning habits, and more confident independent application.
Both support tiers include 1-to-1 structured learning support with adaptive step-by-step instruction, curriculum-aligned planning and personalised materials where appropriate, concept strengthening, scaffolded practice, guided application, targeted error-pattern correction, attention-aware pacing, learning organisation support, and progress updates.
The distinction between tiers is not the quality of support, but the level of support intensity required, including pacing adjustments, reinforcement, personalisation, and the degree of guidance needed to support the learner effectively.
Additional travel charges may apply for home-based sessions. Selected learning notes, worksheets, and printed learning materials may be provided where relevant to the session plan.
Where additional books, personalised activity materials, or learning tools are needed, parents will be informed in advance and may be advised to purchase them separately.
I currently have limited 1-to-1 face-to-face slots available for structured learning support. Suitability will depend on the learner’s needs, location, schedule, and whether the support approach is a good fit.
