I am an emerging student affairs professional. For the last year, I have served as a Graduate Assistant for Western Illinois University's Career Development Center. I have worked with 200-300 students both in group and individual settings. Students learned how to elevate their resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile.

My philosophy centers around student development. In the Career Development Center appointments I have had and the presentations I have given, I always be sure to explain the how and why as opposed to just saying what needs to be included. I prefer to start my appointments by asking students what they are looking to go into and what their strengths are. Then, I ask what specifically they would like to receive feedback on. I focus on their prioritized need before giving additional feedback.
