I am a qualified tutor, having passed the Tutoring Standards Professional Certificate with Merit. I have been tutoring since 2019, when I started teaching English as a foreign language to secondary school students. Since then, I have successfully tutored students preparing for their GCSEs and A-Levels, with a focus on English Literature.
While learning, I often find that it just takes a “click” moment for everything to fall into place, and this is what I work towards with my students. Crucially, this should be a process of exchanging ideas, as much a learning experience for the tutor as for the student. The adage “a child’s mind is a fire to be kindled, not a vessel to be filled” is at the core of my approach to tutoring. At the same time, I always work towards tangible goals with my students, and I’m familiar with all the major exam boards and their mark schemes, and can show you how to master the assessment objectives in order to secure top marks in your exams.
I tutor all levels, including primary, 11 plus, Common Entrance, KS4, GCSE and A-Level, and also offer lessons of English and French as foreign languages to learners of all ages, including adults.
