About Luma

I have been teaching the flute for 6 years, working with High School, College students, and adults, and have successfully guided over 300 students. My teaching approach blends structured lessons with creative exercises and performance practice to ensure students improve technically while enjoying the learning process.

I focus on tone, technique, rhythm, music theory, and expressive playing, while tailoring lessons to individual goals and abilities. I encourage students to perform in recitals, competitions, and school or college events, helping them build confidence and gain practical experience.

Many of my students have achieved significant milestones, reflecting both their dedication and the guidance I provide. My teaching philosophy centres on creating a positive, inspiring, and motivating environment where students can grow musically, develop discipline, and nurture a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for flute is clear, supportive, and practical. I focus on understanding each student’s learning style and goals to make lessons effective and enjoyable. I begin by assessing the student’s level and musical interests.

I explain flute fundamentals such as posture, breath control, embouchure, finger placement, tone quality, articulation, and rhythm in simple language. I encourage open communication so students feel confident asking questions and sharing their progress.

I use real-life musical examples and case studies from concerts, recordings, and familiar compositions. This helps students understand how flute techniques are applied in real music and makes learning practical.

Along with flute lessons, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, scale practice, sight reading, and basic improvisation. I also guide students on practice routines, musical expression, and performance confidence.
