I attend the top 3 U.S. high school, School for Advanced Studies (SAS), located in Miami, Florida.

For teaching programming, I imperatively ask the student a couple generalized programming questions and ask them to guide me to how they would attempt the question asked, and from there I would stick to explaining the concepts in a similar way to how they think. Explaining a concept in a different way than how the student understands is a detriment to the student, so I make sure we are on the same page.
If the student is starting from scratch and is trying to understand a new concept in Python, then I will first try to make the student answer a real-life scenario question with their current knowledge, only then to introduce the new knowledge to solve the scenario, to which the students sees the importance and learns from the time spent thinking. I do not read from a PowerPoint slide or talk all day! The focus is on the student to talk, and for me to compliment what the student knows and ask questions to the student.
