About Elliott
My goal as a tutor is to make learning exciting and to ensure that the material is fully understood. Secondly, I strive to form a personal relationship with my students where they feel comfortable with coming to me for questions about the material or life in general. As for my past experiences, I have worked as a math tutor for the past 2 years and also have worked in scientific research for the past 3 years at various molecular biology and computer science focused labs.

I typically create a lesson plan and use various strategies to make the learning easier for the student. For example, if there are formulas or logical thinking patterns that would make a calculus problem easier for my student, I would walk through it with them. I would start with a warm up or checking homework from the last session and going into the main lesson which consists of practice problems and brushing up on any possible concepts that may be confusing to the student. I feel like I am able to connect with the students on a personal level and get to know them not only in a tutor-student relationship but also as a friend striving to help them improve. I teach lessons for any grade level from K-12 in most areas of math and science (biology, chemistry, physics).
