About Leire

I am currently a 3rd year student of Psychology at the UPV, although I was studying for two years in the Medicine career at the UPV (2014-2016), so I have completed the scientific Baccalaureate and I studied Biology and Chemistry as specific subjects in Selectivity , obtaining of the best qualifications of my institute (IES Usandizaga), both in the specific ones and in the global ones, in the year in which I reauñcé the PAU (2014). In my previous career, I was proficient in the subjects of Anatomy, Basic and Medical Biochemistry, and Basic and Medical Physiology. In the career of Psychology, subjects such as Foundations of Neuroscience and Physiological Psychology continue to be given to me well. Also, I regularly tutor peer study groups with my classmates.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on the following four principles: clarity, deduction, self-management and circularity. Whatever the level of the student, a lesson is not going to sink if it is not explained using terms that are easily understood and in a clear and concise manner, and that can be used for a better representation of the subject. On the other hand, so that a mental map of all the information can not only be remembered but also used in other contexts or different situations, it is important that, after having provided the student with some reference keys, he / she is allowed to deduce the logical conclusions towards more specific points. Likewise, allowing students to reach their own foot with their available tools to these specificities can help them to manage their own knowledge, since it is usually useful to free themselves from memorizing details and trusting their deductive tactics based on certain keys to Find a very specific answer. For this, it is important to promote that the student manages their resources to know with what tools they can give better with the solution; This can also be applied to subjects outside of Biology, although each subject requires special techniques that depend on many factors. Finally, I think it is of special importance that the student, in addition to being free to ask all questions, offers feedback regarding their own performance and the dynamics of the class, since being able to see their progress gives me the possibility for me as a teacher to make the teaching method more flexible and to vary my explanations and give them from another point of view. Thus, I can teach to people who are studying Bachiller at any type of level in Biology, since I consider that my method is effective, practical and flexible, and can be adjusted well to each student. My class dynamics consist of a time of doubts or questions (if not of the student towards me, mine to the student, to check that the previous matter has set), followed by its resolution and a small review, a period in which I expose new knowledge in a more or less interactive and individualized way (depending on the degree to which the situation allows me), and a time interval in which the student internalizes with my tutoring the new knowledge.
