About Lam
I am a South African from the beautiful country of South Africa. I am a native English speaker. I have completed my schooling career, and I am now studying at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal to become a teacher. I have a passion for teaching and have good qualities such as patience, kindness, compassion, and leadership. During my schooling career, I held many leadership positions, which included being Deputy Head Girl in my final year of school (matriculation). I have also completed my 120-hour Advanced TEFL course, and I have gained a tremendous amount of experience from this. I work well with others and would be delighted to work with others during team building and also communicate with others so as to form a community.

My teaching depends on my student and their needs. I have different styles of teaching and find the best match for each student. I am proficient in English and can teach mathematics in English as well as English itself. As a tutor, I will need to assess exactly what the student knows, and from there we will work together to set out a plan of actions for learning. A typical lesson would consist of going through the answers for any work that had been given to the student to work on at home. We will then go over the content of the new lesson, work on examples, and answer any questions, concerns that the student may encounter along the way. I may then give the student homework depending on whether I feel the student needs more practice or if they are well versed in that particular section. I specialize mainly in Foundation Phase tutoring, which is Grade R-3 or from ages 5-9. I strive to make sure that I help my student while making them as comfortable as possible.
