About Jessie

I am currently a final year BA (Hons) Primary Education Student who has previously worked as a teaching assistant four years. I have experience working with children in Years 1, 3, 4 and 5. I have previously supported children with special educational needs, and am confident in teaching across the majority of the curriculum. I have also previously tutored foreign students wishing to learn English.

About the lesson

** I AM CURRENTLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE BUT WILL BE STARTING UP TUTORING TOWARDS THE END OF MAY 2023 - DATE TO BE CONFIRMED WHEN BOOKING** Each session will be one hour long and take place via Google Meet. You will be sent an invite to the session prior to the session's start time. Sessions for English students will be based around the National Curriculum. For students learning English as a foreign language, we will cover a variety of topics helping to develop an understanding of the English language. Prior to the sessions, we will work together to identify areas of which the participant and I can work together to improve. Lessons will then be planned around these. Worksheets, used to support the lesson if appropriate, will be sent in advance so please ensure you have a working printer. I aim to help provide children with a lifelong love for learning and so will always strive to make my lessons both fun and accessible to all. When contacting me, please identify: -The subject in which you wish for the tuition to cover (one subject = 1 hour) -Any areas of strength within the subject -Any gaps in knowledge / areas you wish to focus on Please note that when contacting me for Maths, English or Phonics sessions following the National Curriculum, I will send a short assessment to be completed. This is to be completed individually by the person completing the sessions. Please send assessments to me at least one week in advance of our first session as this allows me to plan accordingly. Price stated per session includes time spent planning and adapting lessons for individual needs. Price is per individual student for the allocated 1 hour slot. Multiple students require multiple slots.

This first lesson is free to allow you to get to know your teacher so that they can best meet your needs.

Details

Free 30 minute session offered to introduce the participant and myself. This session will include a discussion of the areas in which we will be working on in following lessons. Please note: if an assessment is required, this should be submitted at least ONE WEEK before the first session to allow me to identify areas in which we need to work on. Price stated is per individual student for 1 hour. This also includes the time it takes me to plan and adapt the lessons to your individual child's needs. If you cancel a session within 24 of the allocated time, or fail to turn up, the full price of £20 will be charged. If you cancel a session within 72 hours, 50% of the fee (£10) will be charged. Sessions cancelled more than 3 days (72 hours) in advance will not be charged.
