About Sai

I am currently a rising freshman at the University of Houston College of Business pursuing a degree in finance and a minor in data science. From a young age, math was always my favorite subject, I just loved dealing with numbers- especially in algebra. My passion for algebra made me go on to score a perfect score on the Texas Algebra State exam.

During my free time, I love to watch movies, play basketball, and listen to music. Being someone who went to a lot of tutors I know how it feels to sit there with someone unengaging trying to learn a new concept. That is why I try to be more proactive and engage the student by catering certain lessons around their interests.

About the lesson

When I give lessons I focus more on what the student wants to learn rather than what I want them to work on. For example, if you need help solving equations, then we will work on just that until you get the student understands the concept.

A typical lesson plan would be: first the student expresses his/her difficulties in solving equations. First I explain certain key terms such as variable or coefficient after the student understands the vocabulary, I would then start to give them problems to see how much they understood. After the student shows that they understand the concept, I then start to explain how solving equations is a useful skill to have, and how it can be applied in the real world. Once they grasp the real-world application I then provide them with various word problems to test their knowledge.
