About Broghan
I am a young woman from North Lanarkshire who has a passion for teaching students Modern Studies. I love teaching for many reasons which include the fact that it is extremely rewarding. Becoming a Modern Studies teacher has been my aspiration since I was in S2. Since starting to volunteer in a local high school and witnessing the positive impact you can have on students and how your passion can help them to understand and excel, it has highlighted that I would like to further help students by offering private tuition.

Each lesson will have a tailored approach to each individual student and will last from 45 minutes to 1 hour, dependent on the attention span and concentration level.
At the beginning of each lesson I will cover what strengths and weaknesses the student has and we will work together to improve those weaknesses through setting out learning intentions and success criteria’s in order to ensure during each lesson we are progressing. I understand some students may excel in source questions but struggle with knowledge and understanding and this is where I will spend that necessary extra time with them to break it down and simplify in order for them to understand more fully how a Knowledge and Understanding question should be structured.
I have tutored students at both national 5 and higher modern studies and helped them to gain great marks in their unit assessments and exams. This help I can offer not only helps the student gain great grades but it also improves their overall confidence in themselves.
I am available to tutor evenings (after 3pm) and weekends and offer this service to students of any age and any level, ranging from national 4 to advanced higher.
