• What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

  I started playing sports when I was about 3/4 years old. I enjoyed all ball sports and was always a very competitive person. I started playing golf at around 7/8 years old.

• What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

  My favourite sports are Golf, Tennis and Football. Football and Golf are the sports that I've played at the highest level but I'd love to get better at Tennis. Squash and Padel are two sports that I'd love to learn.

• What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

  It's always a thrilling feeling to master something and to feel like you have everything go as you want it to. This is what gives me the passion to train and improve my game.

• Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

  Representing my secondary school in 4 sports (The aforementioned 3, plus Rugby) is something I am very proud of. I feel very lucky to have played in some great teams and at some outstanding venues.

• How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

  Playing sports pushes you to do things you didn't believe were possible. It helps to improve your confidence and to challenge you both physically and mentally.

• If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

  I think I would go for a jog with Tiger Woods. I would love to ask him what goes on in his mind during important moments in a major championship, how he's able to stay in the moment and perform to such a high level.

• How do you help people stay motivated?

  I always encourage people to look at their achievements and to maintain a positive attitude. People tend to underestimate the progress they make and what they're capable of.

• What makes you a Superprof in sports?

  To be a Superprof I think you have to have demonstrated a high level of mastery in one or several sports. Although I'm not sure I've managed to achieve mastery yet, I believe the breadth of sports that I have played, spending several 100s of hours in each, has allowed me to learn many different lessons which I can then leverage within the different sports. Perhaps this means providing a new approach in training or understanding how to handle pressure better in different circumstances.
