About Ritwik
I'm professionally a film maker but I've practiced and been a student of Tabla for 3 decades, from when I was 9. My father, who is my Guru, taught me the basics in a way that it was not difficult to apply and create new patterns whenever necessary. But the old school of teaching does not impart a lot of nitty gritties and widely practiced formulaes to play a lot of things effectively,that is where I want to make a change and share my experience!

For beginners, the classes will emphasize on the basics and the concept of rhythm and time cycle. For advanced students, the classes will take into consideration what they have already learnt and their style of playing, without changing it unless something is grammatically wrong!
