About Rinalin

I am Rinalin, a native Tagalog speaker and a registered nurse by profession. With experience teaching Tagalog to international students, including Chinese learners, I offer patient, personalized coaching that builds confidence in everyday Filipino conversation.

In addition to Tagalog, I speak English as my second language and have experience working as a freelance ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor. This allows me to explain language concepts clearly in English when needed, making the learning process more comfortable and effective for beginners.

Ako si Rinalin, isang katutubong nag sasalita ng Tagalog mula sa Pilipinas at isang rehistradong nars sa aking propesyon. May karanasan ako sa pagtuturo ng Tagalog sa mga internasyonal na estudyante, kabilang ang mga mag-aaral na Tsino. Bukod sa Tagalog, nagsasalita rin ako ng Ingles bilang aking pangalawang wika at may karanasan bilang isang freelance ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor o Guro. Dahil dito, naipapaliwanag ko nang malinaw ang mga konsepto ng wika sa Ingles kung kinakailangan, na ginagawang mas komportable at epektibo ang proseso ng pag-aaral, lalo na para sa mga baguhan.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is communication-first and confidence-building. I focus on helping students actually use Tagalog in real-life situations rather than simply memorizing rules or vocabulary lists. Many learners struggle because they know words but cannot form natural sentences—my method bridges that gap through structured speaking practice, guided repetition, and immediate correction in a supportive way.

Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, goals, and learning pace. Beginners are guided step by step using simple, practical phrases they can use immediately in daily conversations. Intermediate learners are challenged with more natural sentence patterns, question-and-answer drills, and scenario-based speaking tasks. Advanced learners focus on fluency, refinement, and natural expression, including slang, tone, and cultural context.

A typical lesson follows a clear structure:

We begin with a short warm-up conversation to activate your speaking skills and review previous topics. This is followed by focused vocabulary or grammar relevant to your goal for the day, explained in a simple and practical way. We then move into guided speaking practice, where you actively use what you’ve learned in structured conversations, role-plays, and real-life scenarios such as ordering food, introducing yourself, or casual daily interactions. Throughout the lesson, I provide real-time feedback on pronunciation, sentence structure, and natural phrasing. We end with a short review and practical take-home practice so you can continue improving after the session.

What makes my method different is that I prioritize speaking from day one. Instead of overloading students with theory, I help you build confidence through repetition, correction, and real communication. I also create a relaxed and patient learning environment where mistakes are treated as a natural part of progress, not something to be afraid of.

My goal is simple: to help you think less in English and start expressing yourself naturally in Tagalog, step by step, until speaking becomes comfortable and automatic.

1-on-1 Tagalog Coaching – $15/ 1 hour

All learning materials used during our sessions are included in the lesson and will be provided as needed, so you don’t need to purchase anything separately. I use customized notes, example sentences, and practical exercises tailored to your level and learning goals.

Each session is fully online and conducted one-on-one, so there are no additional classroom or facility fees. You only pay for the actual teaching time, and all focus is on maximizing your speaking practice and progress during the session.

My lessons are designed to be flexible and goal-oriented, meaning we work directly on your specific needs - whether that is daily conversation, travel preparation, pronunciation improvement, or building overall fluency. Any follow-up practice suggestions or review materials after class are also included as part of your learning support.
