About James
Why choose me? I bring a diverse and extensive background that has uniquely prepared me for success. I began my career as a mentor in Harlem, NYC, for two years, before relocating to Florida, where I taught science for another two years. Due to military obligations, I then moved to New Mexico, where I taught life skills, followed by a reassignment to California to teach STEM and engineering camps. My journey continued in Puerto Rico, where I served as a private tutor for a family, successfully helping their children gain acceptance into prestigious boarding schools in Switzerland. Currently, I am licensed and teaching science in Minnesota, with an additional certification in algebra. Throughout my career, my students have consistently outperformed their peers in science classes, thanks to my engaging approach and focus on making the material relevant to their lives. I was recently recognized as the highest-rated teacher in my last position. My proven track record includes working effectively in diverse environments and extensive travel experience, which have enhanced my communication skills and helped me become a well-rounded, adaptable educator.

This approach not only enhances engagement but also helps in building authentic relationships based on trust and shared understanding. Most of my experience has been working with high school and middle school students. With over ten years of experience as a mentor and educator, I have developed the skills necessary to connect meaningfully with students and foster a supportive, engaging, and relatable learning environment.
