About Emily
I find teaching rewarding because it allows me to help others towards their dreams. I find that the lessons are always dynamic, I am always learning as much from the student as the student is from me, about myself, my approach, what works and what doesn't. Every individual learner is different, and my experience across a range of age groups and backgrounds has given me an advantage in terms of flexibility and breadth of teaching strategies. The one crucial element of teaching and learning that I have noticed across the board is self-confidence. Students need to learn to believe in themselves and know how to creatively find their own pathways to the answer.

I believe that creativity and critical thinking are the base skills for learning and mastering anything. My personal approach centres around creativity in thought patterns, ideas and discussion, which leads to new ways of learning, understanding, and applying knowledge. I typically teach for 1-2 hours, but that is flexible. I have upwards of 5 years experience private tutoring, from children as young as 7, to adults. I am Valedictorian of my university cohort, graduated on a scholarship, and have published two papers since graduation.
