Teacher of History for 30 years and Headteacher for 11 years

Steven is an enthusiastic and extremely knowledge Teacher of History with extensive knowledge of the GCSE and A Level specifications and subject content.

He is a personable and encouraging educator who wants the best possible outcomes for his students and believes in them achieving excellence. He is supportive and uses a range of techniques and strategies to ensure pupils have a secure understanding of the content being taught and giving them the tools to have the confidence to apply in History exam situations and other subjects such as Philosophy and Ethics and English Literature.

I have worked with Steven since 2015. Steven is an outstanding teacher and school leader, who empowers both staff and students through his belief in a rich, broad curriculum and opportunities for all to develop autonomy and independence. He is committed to student success and believes in supporting all students to achieve their potential, regardless of their starting points. Steven has a very strong knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and developments within education. He has expert subject knowledge and experience of working with students across the secondary range, up to and including A Level. Steven's subject specialisms are history and English.
