I am passionate about Music education and have experience in teaching Music in local schools to children across the age range, as well as volunteering on a community music project.
I have recently graduated from Oxford University (Christ Church) with a first class degree in Music.
I have achieved grade 8 with distinction in the piano, recorder and cello and have also attained grade 8 in theory of music.
I have an awareness of the needs of children on the autism spectrum through my work on Turtle Opera, a community arts project for children aged 10-14 led by the charity Turtle Key Arts.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate.

ABRSM Grade 8 in piano, recorder and cello (all with distinction)

I am positive, friendly and patient. My teaching technique is based on practical exercises focussed upon the application of knowledge and the student gaining confidence.
I am highly knowledgeable in my field and am able to incorporate aspects of Music Theory and History of Music into my lessons at a targeted and age-appropriate level. I have found that this has a tangible impact in contextualising student learning, facilitating a broad, balanced and in-depth understanding.
