About Charlie
I'm a local Aussie who's just come back from China and wants to see how effective the teaching techniques I've learnt can be here. I've had zero complaints from students and I've noticed 3 main effects I've had on students over time.
1. Good trust. Students have felt comfortable asking stupid questions because they realise stupid questions are fine in my class.
2. Comfort in talking. Many of my kids found it was easy to bring up concerns and issues when they felt anything wasn't working.
3. Interest. I'm only happy if you're feeling comfortable in the lesson plan. There's been occasions where we have had to close the book, go walk around and just talk about what's evading us.

I can do strict lesson plans, but I've found that nurturing interest and making it more accessible has led to far better outcomes. This is usually done by making the lesson more relevant, topical, and interesting. You can't learn well if you don't care about the lesson.
