About Sarah
Currently, I am doing my PGCE in PE and an EBacc in Biology. I have previously studied sports therapy (anatomy, physiology-based content) where I was a tutor for the first-year students in my second and third year. Furthermore, I took on tutoring maths and English to school children during the summer of 2020.
I have taught a number of student groups, from one on one sessions to a group of 10+. In my sports therapy degree, those that took the opportunity to be tutored by me were shown to be successful in their grades and I look forward to seeing them graduate this year. When tutoring maths and English, weekly I was able to see progression with the students.
During placements on the PGCE, I have been able to apply my knowledge practically in schools and see further progression with GCSE level students. Despite lockdown and not being in school, I am still creating content for my core students to do as challenges weekly to ensure they are not stuck on the computer 24/7.

As a student teacher, I am constantly doing continuous professional development and taking on ideas from all the teachers around me. My most important aspect of teaching is being able to deliver the best quality teaching for all my students, ensuring their development and understanding of the subject knowledge.
I am currently teaching secondary schools and am happy to teach biology and PE theory (sports studies/GCSE/A Level). I can also offer a practical aspect to PE for the development of core skills.
My techniques in teaching are ensuring the students are able to understand what they are learning to lead them into individual thinking. Through this method of teaching, students develop an 'inner thought' where they are able to think for themselves and push themselves. I use scaffolding to challenge students but will differentiate when necessary as students will need support to continue their development and meet their objectives.
I am a driven teacher, enthusiastic about my subjects which I aim to relay onto my students.
