About Keifer James

I played the piano for 12 years. Had 2 great piano teachers throughout my years. I am well acquainted with people who also teach piano/music as a living. I also took a music theory class provided by the music studio I was enrolled at under a teacher who was quite well-known around the local music scene for composing pieces for the church.

I also have 10 years of experience playing the violin with 9 years of experience being in an orchestra. I have 5 years of experience playing in gigs, weddings, and churches. I also had the opportunity to join international music festivals located in Japan and Hong Kong, being able to play together with different orchestras.

About the lesson

For some, piano is easy, while for others, it’s hard, which I understand and take into account. That’s why my lessons will be structured that it builds fundamentals first such as practicing your scales before tackling the piano head-on. While reinforcing the fundamentals, I would also teach music reading skills as well as give an introduction towards music theory.
By having stable fundamentals early on, one can easily build great hand-eye coordination which is an important skill for piano players and also a necessary skill to learn before building sight-reading skills.
