About Gaurav
Hi, I'm Gaurav! I'm a Computer Science Engineering graduate with a strong academic track record - 9.02 CGPA in engineering, 97/100 in ICSE Math, and a perfect 100/100 in my PU exams. Alongside my engineering career, I've always been drawn to teaching, and over time I've realized I genuinely enjoy helping students untangle concepts they've struggled with for years.
I believe good teaching isn't about rushing through a syllabus, it's about patience, clarity, and meeting each student exactly where they are. Whether a student is confident but wants to sharpen their edge, or feeling completely lost in Math, I adapt my approach to fit their pace and learning style. My own strong foundation in Math, combined with a structured, methodical mindset from my engineering background, helps me break down even the trickiest topics into simple, digestible steps.

My teaching approach is built around one core belief: strong problem-solving comes from strong fundamentals, not memorized shortcuts. Many students struggle with Math not because the subject is inherently difficult, but because a gap somewhere in their basics keeps resurfacing in more advanced topics. My method is to identify exactly where that gap is and rebuild from there — starting at "level 0" if needed, and moving forward only once each concept is genuinely understood.
My teaching technique: I begin every student relationship with a diagnostic conversation and a few practice problems to understand their current level, strengths, and specific pain points. From this, I build a personalized learning plan rather than following a one-size-fits-all syllabus. I focus heavily on the "why" behind each method, not just the "how," so students can apply concepts to unfamiliar problems instead of relying on memorized patterns.
Structure of a class: Each session typically starts with a quick review of the previous topic, followed by a focused explanation of the new concept using simple, relatable examples. We then work through problems together, gradually shifting responsibility to the student, before ending with practice questions and a preview of what's next. This structure keeps sessions consistent and lets progress be tracked easily.
What sets me apart: As a Computer Science Engineering graduate with a strong personal track record in Math (97/100 in ICSE, 100/100 in PU), I bring both academic credibility and a genuine understanding of how students think and where they typically get stuck. I'm patient, structured, and focused on long-term confidence rather than quick fixes.
