About Yosha

Hi, my name is Yosha! I’m a third-year undergraduate student at UNC Chapel Hill, studying Political Science and Psychology on a pre-law track. I took the TOEFL at just 15 years old, scored incredibly well, and used that score to secure admission to UNC—a top public Ivy in the U.S. As an international student from India, I navigated the entire process myself, and I know firsthand how important a strong TOEFL score is for university admissions and career opportunities. I also started my undergraduate studies at just 16, making me the youngest in my program. I’m TESOL-certified (Arizona State University) and have experience teaching English to students from diverse backgrounds. I'm currently on a gap year and during this time, I taught English in Thailand and plan to continue teaching while exploring different countries. I love working with students, helping them grow in confidence, and making learning fun and interactive. Beyond academics, I enjoy playing basketball, playing the guitar, reading, writing, traveling (a lot haha!), binge-watching movies and TV shows, and having deep conversations about politics and philosophy. Teaching has recently become another passion of mine, and I look forward to helping you achieve your TOEFL goals!

About the lesson

My TOEFL preparation classes are designed for students of all ages, from high schoolers to working professionals, who aim to achieve a high score for university admissions, work, or immigration purposes. Since I took the TOEFL at the age of 15 and scored exceptionally well—helping me secure admission to UNC Chapel Hill, a public Ivy League university in the U.S.—I understand what it takes to excel in the exam.

I offer a structured yet flexible approach tailored to each student’s needs. My classes cover all four sections of the TOEFL (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing), with a focus on:
- Test strategies: Understanding the exam format, time management, and proven techniques to maximize scores.
- Speaking practice: Personalized feedback to improve fluency, pronunciation, and confidence.
- Writing improvement: Structuring essays, refining grammar, and strengthening arguments.
- Listening and reading skills: Enhancing comprehension through real exam-style materials.

I use a mix of interactive exercises, mock tests, practice questions, enriching conversations, and real-world applications to ensure students feel confident and well-prepared. Additionally, I am TESOL-certified, which means I have expertise in teaching English as a second language in an engaging and effective way.

Each lesson is customized to the student’s goals, whether they need to focus on a particular section, improve their general English skills, or take full-length practice tests. With my guidance, you can expect steady progress and a strong TOEFL score!
