About Matthew
Matthew Hedrick is a music educator with over a decade of experience teaching aspiring musicians. He has served as the Director of Bands at Burnett Junior High School in Wylie, Texas. Mr. Hedrick has additionally taught in Plano, Texas, Richardson, Texas and Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hedrick holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Kansas. He currently holds memberships in the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, the International Trumpet Guild, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.
Bands under his direction have performed at the prestigious Texas Music Educators Association Convention and been consistent sweepstakes award winners at UIL and invitational festivals. As a trumpet player, Mr. Hedrick has performed across the United States with various ensembles, including performing at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Sydney, Australia.
Mr. Hedrick has designed curriculum for thousands of students, both private and group and is excited to help you on your journey.
