About Russell
I am a theatre director who tutors.
Trained in Moscow with a first class honours MA, I have directed Olivier Award Winners and when I work with actors/creatives I feel the hard work should be inspiring, fun and rigorous.
Tutoring is no different.
I love working with young people and helping them learn about the world of Drama and Acting.
I also help young actors get into some of the best drama schools in the country.
As an English and Drama tutor I want to cultivate passion for the subject and help the tutee find their own critical voice in exams and coursework.
That ticks two boxes as the marker of their work is truly engaged and the tutee is authentically engaging with the texts. This leads to far better work than shortcutting/gaming tactics often passed on by school teachers.
For drama schools, I give tools, skills and mindsets for auditions, as well as directing the auditionee to help shape their talent into the right package for the audition process.
Acting and Drama are my passions. I am a great believer that 'If you want to master something, teach it.'
