About Anna
Hi, I'm a passionate and friendly tutor with a genuine love for Maths and Biology. Having studied both subjects at A-level, I understand not only the content but also the challenges that students can face when preparing for exams. I know that everyone learns differently, which is why I aim to make every lesson supportive, engaging, and tailored to each individual student.
I have previous experience tutoring Maths, where I helped students build confidence, improve their understanding, and approach problems with a positive mindset. Seeing students achieve results they didn't think were possible is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring, and it's what motivates me to continue helping others.
I'm patient, approachable, and believe that no question is ever a silly one. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking for help and are encouraged to learn from their mistakes. Whether you're aiming for top GCSE grades, need extra support with tricky topics, or simply want to feel more confident in class, I'm here to help you reach your goals.
Outside of tutoring, I am a Biology undergraduate who enjoys learning about science, solving challenging problems, and finding creative ways to make complex ideas easier to understand. I believe education should be both enjoyable and empowering, and I hope to inspire my students to become confident, curious learners who feel capable of achieving their full potential.

My teaching approach is centred around making learning enjoyable, engaging, and stress-free. I believe every student has the potential to succeed when they're given the right support, so I adapt each lesson to suit their individual learning style, pace, and goals. Whether a student needs help building confidence, improving exam technique, or mastering difficult topics, I create personalised lessons that focus on their specific needs.
I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions to reinforce understanding. For Biology, I incorporate diagrams, active recall, and memory techniques to help students remember key processes and terminology. For Maths, I focus on breaking complex problems into simple, manageable steps before gradually increasing the level of challenge. Throughout every lesson, I encourage students to think through problems independently while providing guidance and support whenever needed.
I have studied both Maths and Biology at A-level, giving me a strong understanding of the subjects beyond the GCSE specification. I have also previously tutored Maths, helping students improve their confidence, develop effective problem-solving skills, and achieve their academic goals. This experience has taught me how to explain challenging concepts in different ways to suit each student's learning style.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although I am happy to accommodate shorter or longer sessions depending on the student's age, concentration, and learning goals. Every lesson includes opportunities to ask questions, revisit previous topics, and practise applying new knowledge, ensuring students leave feeling confident about what they've learned.
I tutor students studying GCSE Maths and Biology, as well as younger students working towards Key Stage 3 or preparing for GCSEs. My lessons are suitable for students of all abilities, whether they are aiming for the highest grades or simply looking for extra support to build confidence and strengthen their understanding of the subjects.
Above all, I strive to create a friendly, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and celebrating their progress. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them become confident, independent learners with the skills and self-belief to continue succeeding long after our lessons have finished.
