About Simon
Hello! I'm a student, currently studying Physics with Astrophysics at Leicester University with end-of-year marks consistently above 80%. I've got 3 A-levels in Computer Science, Maths and Physics at A*AA with an additional AS-level in Chemistry.
As part of my local astronomy outreach group, I've got a lot of experience in simplifying complex ideas and expressing them to others. Part of this approach is teaching the 'why' behind the maths -there's no point memorising 20 different equations if you don't know where they come from. This isn't just because I love maths (although I do!) but because it helps you remember it and use it in exams.

The key to mastering Maths and Physics is a fundamental understanding of why you're learning to do something - not just how to do it.
I'll show you where guide you through problems step-by-step, allowing you to discover the solution independently and building the problem-solving skills that are essential to exams. Personally, I find doing practice questions the most helpful form of revision, so I'll encourage you to bring your own questions that you've attempted and we can work on it together. I will also bring along some questions that I think will be most beneficial to you as an individual, as well as providing you with some useful revision tips and resources.
I'm happy to teach Maths (Pure and Mechanics) and Physics at GCSE and A-level (excluding A-level Applied Maths Statistics).
