About Chad
After touring and teaching nationally and internationally for over ten years now, I've learned a lot about music and musicianship that you won't find in books, school, or YouTube. There are a few things you can only learn the hard way—or if you're lucky, from someone who already has.
When not on the road or overseas, I regularly play in several local folk/country/pop/rock bands, and often need to learn dozens of new songs in a matter of days. I've learned (the hard way ;) what to prioritize when approaching new material, and how to avoid spending valuable practice time on the less important details.
Everyone's different, and everyone wants something unique out of their relationship to music, so the important first step is recognizing what it is you want and then what it is that inspires you to get there. If you bring that to the table, I'll help you build a path to getting there.

Whether you're picking through chords on an acoustic guitar for the first time, or looking to level up your improvisation, or you're just trying to dial in the perfect pedal or amp setting to match your favorite classic electric tones, you've got what it takes to get there.
With me, you'll be in the driver's seat. My approach is motivation-oriented and learner-directed, and our lessons will be primarily guided by what you bring to the table. What are your goals? What songs are you inspired to learn?
I'll always have something to share, but we'll start with what you've got in mind. Then, we'll find the techniques and ideas that help streamline your practice time, so that you're not just learning guitar—you're learning how to learn it, too.
