About Daniel

I've been behind a keyboard since I was two years old, and I began writing songs shortly after. As a teenager, I learned classical music by ear, won piano competitions, began working with digital audio workstations (DAWs), and developed a lasting interest in how songs, sounds, and arrangements work from the inside.

My musical path has moved through piano and keyboard performance, songwriting, production, recording, touring, and sync licensing. I have played keyboard in a gospel church, performed and toured as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and built independent creative projects over many years. My music has found audiences on YouTube and streaming platforms around the world, with placements in Cartoon Network programming, shows on Apple TV, and several commercials.

I've continued my education through study and workshops with artists including Brian Eno, Laraaji, Kimbra, Daniel Lopatin, and Luke Temple. I've also collaborated with artists connected to projects such as Metronomy and Toro y Moi. I bring that broad experience into lessons while staying attentive to the particular sounds, songs, and questions that matter to each student.

About the lesson

My keyboard and synthesizer lessons are for beginners, returning musicians, songwriters, and curious listeners who want a more personal and creative relationship with music.

We can work on basic technique, scales, chords, rhythm, and practical keyboard skills, but I'm especially interested in helping students play by ear, recognize patterns, and discover what they're drawn to sonically and emotionally.

A typical lesson begins with where you are: a song, sound, artist, creative problem, or musical idea you want to explore. From there, we might learn chords from a favorite track, build a simple progression, experiment with a synthesizer patch, develop a melody, or find a practice routine that you will actually want to return to. I can also support songwriting, arrangement, scoring ideas, and working through creative blocks.

I am a touring multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and independent artist with experience in recording, performance, sync licensing, and collaborative creative projects. My approach values consistency, listening, experimentation, and learning the musical language that feels alive to you. Students looking for highly technical classical or jazz instruction may be better served by a specialist; students looking to make music with more confidence, curiosity, and self-direction are a strong fit.
