About William
I am a qualified Teaching Assistant with a SEND certificate and I am currently training to be a teacher. I have a BTEC Diploma in Forensic Science and a foundation training in the Makaton communication system, I am also experienced with the use of PECS.
My role in a special school means I support SEND and complex needs children on a daily basis. I also have experience working a CAMHS service supporting young people with complex mental health needs.
In school and when tutoring i support children to explore and access education, whilst developing and implementing interventions and tailored learning for the student.
My current teaching training involves delivering science and life skills to different ability groups. However I am able to support any part of the curriculum.

My teaching style is very much person centred, if something is not working for the learner then I believe it should be changed or adapted so that the learner can understand what is being taught, work mostly with students who are working towards entry level qualifications. The structure of me lessons and what I an support with is dictated by the learners, if they need support in learning specific topic arias then I will work though the topic with them, also if the learner needs support with different concepts or topics then the learning can be adapted.
