About Dasvivium
Holding a BM Music Performance degree, I hear the friction of rosin against string as clearly as a spoken word. My teaching practice grows from the deep roots of the oral tradition where tunes are absorbed by listening and ornamentation is picked up through careful imitation. These 13 years have seen me work with beginners drawn to the sounds of bluegrass as often as experienced players looking to find their footing.
It is a genuine pleasure to help people find their voice through the instrument. I truly enjoy seeing the lightbulb go off when a student finally captures the right phrasing.

A typical hour feels like sitting on a porch trading melodies until the phrasing sits just right under your fingers. You can hear the specific vibration of a perfect double stop ringing through the room as we work through your repertoire. My 13 years of playing inform how I approach sight reading and those tricky spiccato bowing patterns that often frustrate even seasoned players.
We will use a free trial lesson to gauge your starting level and decide if ABRSM or Trinity exam prep is the right path for your goals. Whether you are a hobbyist or a self-taught player seeking structure, I bring a focus on ear training to every single meeting.
My degree in Music Performance provides the technical framework for the musicality we build together. I have always preferred this way of learning music through the ears first and the page second. It reminds me of the old protest singers who kept the melody alive by carrying it in their hearts. Let us see where your current skills sit and map out a way to get you playing with more confidence.
