About Elizabeth
My area of expertise is in the field of Communication Science. In 2010 I completed the MA program at the Ohio State University School of Communication and finished my doctoral work there in 2016. I have taught classes in persuasion, public speaking, interpersonal communication, social media, and research methods (to name a few). I am a personable and engaging instructor who believes that flexibility for students is important for the learning process. My philosophy of learning has largely been influenced by my own experience with ADHD and raising my children, one who is on the Autism Spectrum with ADHD. I think the educational experience is best when students are encouraged to approach a challenge by seeing their unique traits as strengths while working toward professional standards.

How I can help: I offer individualized sessions for high school and college students as well as adults who want to improve their professional communication skills. Sessions are available for individual assignments or for a longer term plan to develop or improve professional verbal and written communication skills. I am happy to work with students and individuals with ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
During these sessions, we will discuss your specific goals, identify challenges, and start working right away using theory-based methods to improve your public speaking, written, self-presentation, or conflict management skills. Sessions are online, 50 min., and offered at a variety of times for your convenience.
About me: With 16 years of teaching and research experience at colleges and universities, I am able to bridge the gap between the academic approach and what works in the real world. I want to help you develop tools that will serve your goals: Whether that be on one assignment or class or working to become a more confident and effective communicator.
